Workshop Promoting Climate Technology and Carbon Market Partnerships

Climate Change mitigation technologies are one of the key components to sustainable growth and development. The carbon markets, developed out of the Kyoto Protocol, offer additional financial means to fund technology investments. For Botswana, this could mean opportunities for business development and foreign direct investments in line with sustainable development and climate change mitigation. Botswana, and in particular the Botswana Innovation Hub, offers excellent opportunities for businesses to operate safely and successfully in the Southern African region.

This workshop is a step towards highlighting the international interest of finding climate change projects from business driven investors, public actors and researchers, which can be done in partnerships with entrepreneurs, project proponents and other partners in Botswana.

Former President of Botswana, His Excellency F.G. Mogae will officially open this workshop.
