The Board of Directors, Management, and Staff of the Botswana Digital and Innovation Hub (BDIH) are thrilled to welcome Mr Ogone Lekgotla Mothooagae to the organisation following his appointment as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors effective 1st of October 2024.

Mr Mothooagae is the Founder and CEO of Stencil Technologies, a Botswana-borne regional software and technology services company. His academic qualifications include a BEng. (Hons) in Software Engineering from the University of Manchester and PRINCE2 Practitioner certification.

Mr Mothooagae began his professional career with a decade-long tenure as a management consultant at Accenture, eventually rising to senior management roles. Later, he served as Managing Director within the Adapt IT Group, a pan African JSE-listed technology company, where he focused on Botswana and other regional markets. His career highlights include leadership in technology innovation, operations management, corporate governance, predictive analytics, and a growing interest in Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).

His transformative contributions span industries like Energy, FMCG, Telecommunications, Financial Services, and the Public Sector.

He currently serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Access Bank Botswana and has previously served on Boards such as the Botswana Stock Exchange and Botswana Railways. Mr Mothooagae is also part of the 2024 cohort for Stanford’s Seed Business Leadership program, continuing his pursuit of growth and excellence in leadership.

Mr Mothooagae has extensive experience in driving organisational transformation through technology-driven solutions. Under his guidance, we are confident that BDIH will continue to uphold its commitment to fostering innovations that drive our nation forward and, in the process, transforming Botswana to a knowledge-based economy.
