Botswana Innovation Fund (BIF) is a Ministry of Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology initiative, administered by the Botswana Innovation Hub to promote innovation by giving innovators access to early stage funding.
BIF funded projects are closely monitored, and grants are withdrawn on project milestone basis. The funded projects are expected to scale up by accessing other funding instruments such as commercial banks and development funding institutions.
In order to ensure administrative transparency, BIH has a fair, equitable and non-discriminatory complaints handling procedure for competitions.
Botswana Innovation Hub would like to encourage innovators to constantly take heed of funding opportunities to develop their innovative projects. BIH will continuously engage for demand driven innovations to deliver on the organisation’s commitment to foster commercialisation of innovations and technology transfer and contribute towards Botswana’s competitiveness & economic diversification. Future calls will be tailored to national priority challenges in line with the government’s development roadmap.
